Frontline comment

As the conference season begins, it’s a busy time here at the CSP. Lynn Eaton on why the society's gearing up for Physiotherapy UK.

But before then there’s plenty more on the horizon for members.

We know it’s important for you to keep abreast of what’s going on out there, within your membership organisation and within your profession. And we know you welcome help in promoting the value of physiotherapy to the public.

Dip into this issue of Frontline to keep abreast of the vast range of work going on, both in the CSP and around the country.

For instance, we have a briefing on the trade union bill (page 11), a Q&A on the CSP’s workforce data monitoring initiative (page 16), a look at the pioneering work of members in primary care settings (page 28), and an update on how physios in the Highlands are tackling the issue of falls among older people (page 22).

On the subject of falls, you will have received a booklet with this edition. Get up and go offers tips for anyone at risk of falling. It’s part of the CSP’s support for Older People’s Day on 1 October.

The publication is from Saga in association with the CSP and Public Health England. It’s another example of what the organisation is doing, along with other stakeholders, to promote physiotherapy and public health.

Make the most of this and the other CSP resources that you can use to show patients and others that physiotherapy works.
