Facilities time

The role of CSP union rep involves tasks that require time off from clinical work and access to necessary tools, known as 'facilities'.

CSP reps in recognised workplaces are legally entitled to paid facility time for tasks including talking to members, keeping records, organising, recruiting, meeting with management, representing members and attending training.

However, while paid time off is a right, how it works in practice is determined by local agreements with your employer, whether and how you choose to use it and the needs of your workplace. This section covers everything you need to know.

What facilities time covers (and what it doesn't)
