Professional network funding

The next round for CSP professional network funding awards will open on 1 May 2024 and close at 12pm on 1 September 2024.

Funding is awarded in early October 2024.

How to apply for funding

Step 1

If you are a member of a CSP professional network and are considering applying for funding via your network, please contact the professional network chair and discuss any projects that may benefit. If you are a CSP network (regional, diversity or associates') wanting to collaborate with a CSP professional network in order to apply for a funding award please contact the professional network chair to discuss your project proposal.

Step 2

Please ensure you read the funding guidelines, which include the marking criteria that will be applied when a CSP panel reviews all the submitted applications. Guidelines are reviewed and may be updated prior to each funding round.

Projects can be non-clinical or clinical focused but must be able to adhere to the criteria listed within the guidelines.

Step 3

Complete an application form and record a five-minute video outlining your project (this can include presentation slides)– guidance for your recording can be found in the funding guidelines. Note, the application form is reviewed and may be updated prior to the launch of a funding round.

Step 4

You'll be asked to upload your application form and video to an online dropbox.

Next steps

Funding is awarded via a CSP panel review and scoring.

Submissions will be reviewed, scored and results emailed to professional networks a few weeks after the deadline. Professional networks awarded funding will be asked to agree to the terms and conditions of the funding award which includes quarterly reporting to the CSP.

Examples of previous successful funding applications

Blended learning provision of core ACPSEM courses - funding was provided to transform one of ACPSEM core courses online 'Clinical Reasoning in Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation'. This longstanding and popular course has been substantially revised to make it more accessible to busy physios. There is now a comprehensive online resource in place of the previous Part 1 of the course, with approximately 20 hours of CPD, as well as downloadable resources, links to further information and a discussion board to interact with tutors or other participants. Part 2 remains face to face and is packed with practical workshop style teaching, which brings the knowledge from Part 1 to life. There is opportunity for reflection and self-directed learning in both parts of the course, as well as opportunities to discuss individual queries with experienced tutors, who have worked with a wide range of different sports. If you would like to make your rehabilitation programmes more effective, this is the course for you.

Funding was provided to create a reflective toolkit is to prompt, guide and support all CSP professional networks (PNs) to consider how their PN aligns with the CSP EDB (equity, diversity and belonging) strategy on a recurring basis.
